Requirements Common to All Applicants
Passport Bio Page
- Upload a clear scanned copy of the passport bio-data page.
- Ensure all details are readable, including the MRZ code.
- The scan must be in colour, high quality, and complete.
Passport-Size Photograph
- Upload a clear scanned copy of a passport-size photograph.
- The face must be front-facing, centred, and clearly visible.
- The background should be plain white with no shadows.
Return or Onwards Flight Ticket
- Provide a copy of a confirmed return or onward flight ticket.
- The ticket must show your name and complete travel details.
- Ensure all dates and flight information are clearly visible.

Ordinary Visa
- Passport or National ID of a host citizen/Resident Permit for a Tanzanian
resident: If the host is a Tanzanian citizen, their passport or national ID is
required; if the host is not a Tanzanian citizen, a valid residence permit issued by Tanzania is
required.
- Invitation Letter: An official letter issued by a host in Tanzania that invites
the applicant and confirms the purpose of the visit, applicable to activities such as visiting
friends or relatives, attending meetings or workshops, participating in exhibitions or trade fairs,
or undertaking humanitarian or charitable activities.
- Business Licence: A copy of the official business licence issued by the
Government of Tanzania, confirming that the host organisation is legally registered and authorised
to operate in Tanzania.
- NGO’s Registration Certificates: Official documentation confirming the
NGO’s legal registration, such as a society or trust registration certificate issued by the
government.
- Certificate of Registration: Official proof confirming the legal registration of
the inviting organisation (company, university, or NGO), such as a company incorporation
certificate or university accreditation document.
- Medical Report: A medical report issued by an authorised hospital or qualified
medical practitioner in Tanzania outlining the treatment details and expected duration of
treatment.
- Marriage Certificate for Spouse: Official documentation establishing the marital
relationship with the spouse.
- A copy of the birth certificate (Child): An official birth certificate verifying
the child’s identity and the parent-child relationship with the applicant or host.
Business Visa
- A copy of the registration certificate or Certificate of Incorporation/Compliance:
Proof that the host company or institution is legally registered in Tanzania.
- Contract for Service: A signed agreement between the applicant and the inviting
organisation outlining the scope, duration, and nature of the services or technical work to be
performed in Tanzania, including assessments, consultancy, or contract-based services, as
applicable.
- Invitation Letter: A letter issued by a legally registered institution, company,
university, college, or client organisation in Tanzania, inviting the applicant and outlining the
purpose of the business activity.
- Applicant’s letter detailing the nature of the business applicant wishes to
undertake: A detailed letter from the applicant explaining the nature of the business
they intend to establish.
- Permission from a competent authority: Authorisation from the relevant regulatory
body for conducting business research.
Transit Visa
- Application Letter: A brief letter explaining the purpose of transit and
confirming onward travel arrangements.
Multiple Entry Visa
- A copy of the Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation /
Compliance: Proof that the company is legally registered in Tanzania.
- Proof of being a director, agent, representative, or shareholder: Official
documents confirming the applicant’s role or ownership status within the company.
- Passport or National ID of a Tanzanian host/residence permit for a Tanzanian
resident: A passport or national ID if the host is a Tanzanian citizen or a valid
Tanzanian residence permit if the host is a foreign resident.
- Invitation Letter: An official letter issued by the host in Tanzania, whether a
company, institution, NGO, university, or individual, inviting the applicant and
confirming the nature, purpose, and duration of the visit(s).
- A copy of the birth certificate (child): Anofficial document confirming the
parent-child relationship.
- A copy of the marriage certificate (spouse): An official document confirming the
marital relationship.
- Certificate of Registration: Proof of legal registration for NGOs or other
non-company organisations, where applicable.
What Are “Other Relevant Documents” for Meetings & Workshops Under the
Ordinary Visa?
Supporting documents confirming participation in the meeting or workshop, such as an event agenda or
programme, registration or attendance confirmation, official event schedule, nomination or
participation letter, or written communication from the organiser explaining the meeting details.
