Types of Tanzania eVisa
Applicants can select from the following Tanzania eVisa types, depending on their purpose of visit.
- Tourism eVisa: For general tourism and sightseeing in Tanzania.
- Transit eVisa: For passing through Tanzania to another destination.
- Ordinary eVisa: For short-term visits like family trips, meetings, events, humanitarian work, or medical care.
- Multiple Entry eVisa: For frequent travellers needing multiple entries.
- Business eVisa: For business activities such as meetings, conferences, or professional engagements.
Note: U.S. passport holders planning to visit Tanzania for tourism purposes must apply for a leisure and holiday visa, which allows multiple entries and is valid for 1 year.
Essential Requirements for Tanzania eVisa
The following documents are mandatory for all Tanzania eVisa applicants, irrespective of visa type or purpose of travel.
- Passport Bio Page: Upload a clear copy of your passport bio page. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
- Photo: Provide a recent colour photo taken on a plain white background.
- Return ticket: Provide proof of a confirmed return or onwards travel ticket showing your departure from Tanzania.
These are standard Tanzania eVisa Requirements. Depending on the selected travel purpose, more documents will be required.
